  • 2011 and 2012 Breakfast with Santa attendees donated food items and money for Food for Others, located in Fairfax.

Toys for Tots

  • Staff contributions during the 2011 and 2012 Christmas season.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

  • For a number of years the staff, board, and parents joined together to field a team for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. In December of 2011 the staff of the preschool sponsored a bake sale for the preschool families. The $250 earned at the bake sale was donated to Team Lord of Life.

Shoeboxes for the Troops

  • Shoeboxes for the Troops continues to offer an opportunity for staff, preschool families, and church members to work together to honor those who serve our country in the military. Here is a thank you note from alumnus Ryan Miller. His unit received some of the boxes during the spring of 2011. The 2012 and 2013 drives were well supported.

Breakfast With Santa:

  • In December our advisory board and families plan Breakfast with Santa which offers the preschool, church and local community families a time for food, fellowship and a visit with the Jolly Old Elf.

Village of Hope: Since 2008 the students in our 5 day class have participated in fundraising for the Village of Hope School in Haiti. In 2013 this fundraising effort expanded to include other classes.

  • During the Spring the Room 5 students collect coins that are contributed to the Village of Hope.

  • Their annual pretzel store, with its chocolate dipped pretzels, teaches them "cooking" and marketing skills while raising funds for this worthwhile charity.

  • In 2010 $1000 was contributed to the Village of Hope by Lord of Life Preschool.

  • In 2011 the funds raised were used to help offset shipping costs of items sent to VOH by Lord of Life Lutheran Church.

  • In 2012 the preschool began sponsoring a child at the Village of Hope.

  • In 2013 the Trek for Hope, a walk/run a-thon, was added to the fundraising efforts. Two classes joined Room 5 in this endeavor.

Clothing Drives

  • The preschool has supported Gracing Spaces in a number of clothing drives.
